AU Hunger Week 2011 Events


 Monday, October 10:
·      Beat Bama Food Drive Kick-Off starts today and will run through November 21!
o   War Eagle, Beat Bama, and Beat Hunger! Learn more about BBFD here.
·       “Make Hunger Disappear” in the Pharmacy School Lobby
o   Watch as “H-U-N-G-E-R” disappears through generous donations that will benefit BBFD and the East Alabama Food Bank!
·      “Tie-Dye and Say Goodbye to Hunger” on the Haley Concourse from 9-10am and 1-2pm or in Spidle Hall from 10am-12pm
o   Fight Hunger by purchasing a Tie-Dye T-Shirt for $5 and help us feed 7,000 people this week!
·      “The Baffle Hunger Raffle” from 10am – 2pm in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences
o   You can purchase your tickets or donate canned goods to enter in a chance to win exciting prizes!
·      “Engineering a Way to Fight Hunger” in the College of Engineering
o   Inspiring Passion for Fighting Hunger with Engineers!
·      “Kroger Days” Food Drive sponsored by the College of Business from 12-5pm at the Kroger on Dean Rd in Auburn, benefitting BBFD and the East Alabama Food Bank
·      “Give Change to Change a Life” in the Lobby of Miller Hall, sponsored by the School of Nursing
o   Donate spare change and canned goods – it only takes $0.25 a day to feed a child!
·      Committee of 19 Information Table on the Haley Center Concourse from 10am-2pm
o   Stop by to learn more about Auburn’s Fight Against Hunger!
·      “Res. Life’s Change for Change” is October 1 – October 31 in Residence Halls across campus
o   Donate spare change at your Residence Hall for a chance to win a dinner in the Eagle’s Nest for you and your hall!

Tuesday, October 11:
·      Beat Bama Food Drive Press Conference at 10:45am in the Athletic Complex
·      “Make Hunger Disappear” in the Pharmacy School Lobby
o   Watch as “H-U-N-G-E-R” disappears through generous donations that will benefit BBFD and the East Alabama Food Bank!
·       “AU-CAN-struction” from 8am – 5pm in the AU Student Center
o   Each of the 6 Greek Week teams will be building Can-Structures with approximate 800 cans; structures will be on display all day today and Wednesday!
·       “Tie-Dye and Say Goodbye to Hunger” on the Haley Concourse from 12pm-2pm or in Spidle Hall from 10:45 am-12:30 pm
o   Fight Hunger by purchasing a Tie-Dye T-Shirt for $5 and help us feed 7,000 people this week!
·      “Engineering a Way to Fight Hunger” in the College of Engineering
o   Inspiring Passion for Fighting Hunger with Engineers!
·      “Give Change to Change a Life in the Lobby of Miller Hall, sponsored by the School of Nursing
o   Donate spare change and canned goods – it only takes $0.25 a day to feed a child!
·      “Hunger Strike” sponsored by COSAM starts today at 6pm and ends at with percent-of-profit night tomorrow (10/12) at ZOE’s Kitchen on Magnolia at 6pm
o   Experience Hunger… Together! Don’t Eat for 24 hours.
·      “Kroger Days” Food Drives for BBFD sponsored by the College of Business from 12-5pm at the Kroger in Tiger Town
·      “All In Against Hunger Fundraiser at CHILL” on Magnolia from 2pm-10pm
o   Fight Hunger, and Enjoy Yogurt Your Way!
·      Committee of 19 Information Table on the Haley Center Concourse from 10am-2pm
·      “Res. Life’s Change for Change” is October 1 – October 31 in Residence Halls across campus
o   Donate spare change at your Residence Hall for a chance to win a dinner in the Eagle’s Nest for you and your hall!

Wednesday, October 12:

·      “Fight Hunger Night at Zoe’s Kitchen” on Magnolia from 5pm – 9pm for a percent-of-profit night benefitting the AU Committee of 19 and War on Hunger
o   You have to eat today… so eat at Zoe’s!

·      “Tie-Dye and Say Goodbye to Hunger” on the Haley Concourse from 9-10am and 1-2pm or in Spidle Hall from 10am-12pm
o   Fight Hunger by purchasing a Tie-Dye T-Shirt for $5 and help us feed 7,000 people this week!
·      “The Baffle Hunger Raffle” in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences; Winner will be announced TODAY at 3:00pm
o   You can purchase your tickets or donate canned goods to enter in a chance to win exciting prizes!
·       “Engineering a Way to Fight Hunger” in the College of Engineering
o   Inspiring Passion for Fighting Hunger with Engineers!
·       “Give Change to Change a Life” in the Lobby of Miller Hall, sponsored by the School of Nursing
o   Donate spare change and canned goods – it only takes $0.25 a day to feed a child!

o   Attend the 2nd Annual BBFD Auction Fundraiser to enjoy food and live entertainment and help meet our goal of 271,000 pounds of food for the East Alabama Food Bank!

·      “Res. Life’s Change for Change” is October 1 – October 31 in Residence Halls across campus

Saturday, October 15:
·      “Kick Hunger’s Tail” and Tailgate with the Committee of 19 before the Auburn-Florida game! Be sure to look out for your college’s representative as Committee of 19 is announced on the field during the game to raise awareness about the War on Hunger at Auburn!
